Milk Peda is a traditional Indian sweet made by adding sugar and flavours to evaporated full cream milk to form a soft fudge. We can add different flavours to peda like saffron, vanilla, chocolate, etc. as per our liking. These are usually prepared during festivals and special occasions throughout the country.

Directions

Unexpected guests at your home and you have no desserts to serve them!! Try this out!! You will have your pedas ready within no time. You will need a thick-bottomed frying pan and a well-greased bowl. I have taken a 250 ml cup for measurement.

1 Step

In a thick bottomed frypan, add 2 tbsp of ghee and keep it in a medium flame. Pour ½ cup milk to it and mix well. Once it is warm, add 1 ½ cup milk powder and mix well to avoid any lumps. Stir for two minutes. Add ½ cup powdered sugar, ¼ tsp cardamom powder and a pinch of salt and mix well to get it free of any lumps. Stir continuously until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the pan.

2 Step

Pour the hot mixture into a well-greased bowl and garnish with chopped pistachios. Once cooled, cut it into the desired shape.
